I have worked in the various level from Lecturer to Principal from 2006 to 2018 in my career. Also having international experience as a Nursing Director at TISI Sangam College of Nursing and health care education at Fiji Island, involved in the formulation for Curriculum for Nurse Partitioner and enrolled Nursing Courses in Fiji. Moreover, I have joined at Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University from 2019 onwards continuing till date. Prof. Dr. K. Prema Sekar is the Principal of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Chennai Campus. She earned her B.Sc. Nursing from SRM College of Nursing in 1996 and her M.Sc. Nursing from Saveetha College of Nursing in 2002, specializing in Child Health Nursing, followed by an M.Phil. in Women’s Studies from Mother Teresa Women's University in 2007. Her scholarly pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Nursing from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2012. She has also completed the Principles of Bioethics and Human Rights course based on the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights from the UNESCO Chair Bioethics Haifa Department of Education in 2019 and Assessor Course on National Accreditation Board of Hospitals & Health Care Providers (NABH) in 2024. She has a broad range of experience spanning over 27 years, having held leadership positions in both academic and healthcare settings, including serving as a Principal and Assistant Professor and Chief Nursing Officer at various institutions in India and overseas. She is a recognized guide for Ph.D. programs at Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research and has mentored more than 200 postgraduate and 25 doctoral research projects.
