Profile Summary

Prof.Dr.Helen Shaji J.C., is the Principal of Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University, Chennai Campus. She earned her B.Sc Nursing from Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai in 1998 and M.Sc Nursing from the same university in 2003, specializing in Medical and Surgical Nursing, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Annamalai University in 2001. Her scholarly pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Nursing, focusing on adolescent health, from Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2012 and a Fellowship in Palliative Care in 2022.

Her career spans over 23 years of teaching and clinical experience, with academic positions in notable institutions such as the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Majmaah University, Saudi Arabia, St. Isabel's College of Nursing, Chennai, and Mohammed Sathak A.J. College of Nursing, Chennai. She has been instrumental in shaping nursing education and practices at Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing since July 2019 and has held adjunct faculty roles at Texila American University in South America. With teaching experience both in India and abroad, she has cultivated a diverse understanding of educational practices.

She is a prolific researcher and scholar with over 36 publications in high-impact journals and frequently presents at international conferences, sharing her expertise in Medical Surgical Nursing, Adolescent Health, and Palliative Care. She has authored 4 nursing textbooks and wrote a chapter in nursing research book. She is recognized for her leadership in nursing education, mentoring numerous Ph.D. candidates, and actively participating in various academic and healthcare committees.

Her excellence in nursing and education has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Life Time Achievement Award from Tamizhsangam & Kavignar Munaivar Mohanram Tamizh Research Centre in 2023, the Muthupenn Award 2023 from the RMD group of Hospitals, the Best Woman Performer - 2022 of SSSCON Award, the Best Research Paper Award from TJPRC in 2014, and the Best Nurse Award from The Tamilnadu D.R.M.G.R. Medical University on International Nurses Day in 2012. Additionally, she received the Research Excellence Award 2020 from the Institute of Scholars for her outstanding contributions to nursing research.

She has played a significant leadership role in both national and international accreditation, serving as the Accreditation Unit Head in organizations such as AHPGS, NCAAA, and NAAC, showcasing her commitment to maintaining and enhancing educational and institutional standards. Her leadership abilities are evident from her tenure as Head of Institution for a total of 10 years, both domestically and internationally. Her contributions extend beyond academia into healthcare. She played a pivotal role in establishing the Adolescent clinic at Shri Satya Sai Medical College and Research Institute, highlighting her dedication to healthcare and community service.

Profile Summary

Prof. A L Mahalakshmi, Vice Principal, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, completed B.Sc Nursing from  SRM College of Nursing, Ramapuram, Chennai in the year 2001 and M.Sc Nursing in Medical Surgical Nursing  from M A Chidambaram College of Nursing, Taramani, Chennai in 2006. I have worked in the various level from Lecturer to Principal from 2006 to 2018 in my career. Also having international experience as a Nursing Director at TISI Sangam College of Nursing and health care education at Fiji Island, involved in the formulation for Curriculum for Nurse Partitioner and enrolled Nursing Courses in Fiji. Moreover, I have joined at Shri Sathya Sai College of Nursing, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University from 2019 onwards continuing till date. Having around 20 years of total teaching experience. I am currently holding the member secretary positions in various committee, such as admission committee, curriculum Committee, SNA Committee, National Scholarship Committee, Mentor Mentee Committee. I also have been involved various academic and administration related works of SSSCON. I have guided around 40 PG research projects and having expertise in research works. Currently having two IMR projects and UG projects under study. Presented and participated as a resource person for various internal and external organized conference, webinar and CNE programme. I am holding a life time membership of Trained Nurses Association of India, International Association of Oncology and also having the BLS Instructor position at SSSMCRI. Have done National and International publications in various Journal. Received appreciation certificate for reviewing around 25 Case reports under the Springer Journal for the academic year 2023-2024. Submitted the content for Short term certificate course on “Burns dressing”, under TNNMC for TNOU. Has successfully completed various courses on the alternative therapy such as Reiki and Taichi, Pranayama Teacher Training Programme and obtained trained and master certificates. Have been appointed us reviewer for various journals.



Dr Golda Sahaya Rani R

Profile Summary

This is Dr. Golda Sahaya Rani. R, Professor cum HOD, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, Faculty, Joined the institution as  professor in the year 2020. My Career advancement include done my under graduation from Sara Nursing College in 2001 and post graduation from Sree Balaji College of Nursing. Possess 19 years of experience. I have been serving as a research guide, class coordinator and hostel in charge faculty. Other additional responsibilities include Convenor of minority committee, Antiragging committee, Newsletter and Chronicle. Member of Curriculum committee, Admission Committee and scientific committee. Is a life time member in the Trained Nurses association of  India. Total number of  Publications Indexed and Non Indexed Journals are 19 and completed 2 research UG project.
